Journal rules vary by state. The app includes a per-state guide: whether a journal is required, whether an electronic journal is accepted, your state's maximum notary fees, and remote online notarization (RON) basics. It also applies per-state field rules automatically: Montana, Pennsylvania and Texas prohibit recording ID numbers, while California, Massachusetts and Missouri require them. Where a state requires a paper journal (Arizona, Missouri, Washington), the app can serve as a supplementary record. Always verify with your commissioning authority.
