About this app

Chevio is a food diary that works the way you actually talk about food.

Type "two scrambled eggs, a slice of sourdough and half an avocado" and it works
out what you ate — in the amounts a person would say them in, 2 eggs, 1 slice,
half — with the grams underneath. Or point the camera at your plate and let it
do the same from a photo. Every amount stays editable: change "2 slices" to 3
and the calories follow.

WHAT IT DOES

• Describe a meal in a sentence, or photograph it
• Search a food database, or scan a barcode
• Calories and macros for the day against a target that fits you
• Your own recipes, with per-serving numbers worked out for you
• A nutrition score for foods and recipes, so you can compare two options
• Weight tracking with a 30-day trend
• A shopping list you can share with the person you live with
• Home-screen widgets for today's numbers

FREE, AND NOT CRIPPLED

Logging food, scanning barcodes, the diary, the shopping list, weight tracking
and the widgets are free and stay free. There is no ad in the app and there
never will be.

Chevio Pro covers the parts that cost money to run — describing a meal in words,
reading a plate from a photo, importing a recipe from a link or a photograph,
and generating recipe images.

GREEK AND ENGLISH

The whole app is translated, and the meal descriptions work in either language —
"δύο αυγά και μια φέτα ψωμί" is understood exactly like the English.

YOUR DATA

No ads, no analytics, no trackers, and nothing is sold to anyone. Use it signed
out and your diary never leaves the phone. Sign in and it syncs across your
devices, which is the only reason an account exists at all. You can delete your
account, and everything in it, from inside the app.

Chevio does not give medical advice and is not a medical device. If you have a
condition that depends on what you eat, talk to someone qualified.
Log food the way you say it. Describe a meal or photograph it — that's it.
