About this app

Odit turns the SMS your bank already sends you into a live picture of your money, automatically. No typing, no pasting, no bank login, no spreadsheet. If your bank or wallet texts you when money moves, Odit reads that text and files the transaction.

Built for Ethiopia: every balance and budget is in birr, and Odit understands the message formats CBE, telebirr, Awash, Dashen and the rest actually send.

HOW IT WORKS

Sign in with Google and allow SMS access.
Odit reads the messages your banks and wallets send you.
Balances, spending, budgets and net worth appear, and stay current as new messages land.

WHAT YOU GET

Amharic and English. Use Odit in whichever you think in.
Budgets per category. Set a monthly limit in birr and get told the moment you cross it, not at the end of the month.
One net worth. CBE, telebirr, Awash, Dashen and the rest, added up into a single number.
A wallet per account, each with its own balance and history.
Every transaction categorized. Set a rule once and that merchant is tagged from then on.
Instant alerts. A new bank SMS is parsed on your phone and shows up right away, even with no connection.
People. Who you send money to, who sends money to you, and how much over time.
Goals. Put a number on what you are saving for and watch it fill.
Recurring payments, surfaced. The transfers and subscriptions that repeat every month, in one place.
Home screen widgets, from a small net worth tile to a breakdown of money in and money out per bank.
Receipt photos. Snap the paper receipt, Odit reads it on your phone and attaches it to the matching transaction.

BANKS AND WALLETS CBE, CBE Birr, telebirr, Awash Bank, Dashen Bank, BOA, Zemen Bank, Coopbank, COOPay Ebirr, Kaafi Ebirr, M-PESA, Abay Bank, Ahadu Bank, Amhara Bank, Berhan Bank, Enat Bank, Hibret Bank, Hijra Bank, Nib Bank, Oromia Bank and Apollo. New message formats are added as they appear.

WHY ODIT NEEDS SMS ACCESS Reading bank SMS is the whole product. Without the SMS permission there is nothing to track, because Odit has no other way to see a transaction. Messages from personal phone numbers are never uploaded. Only the short codes and named senders your banks and wallets text from are synced.

ON THE WEB TOO Sign in at odit.et with the same Google account to see the same data on a bigger screen.
Telebirr, CBE & bank SMS read for you. Spending, budgets & net worth in birr.
