Review from Rick Sirl
Great! Great app only being able to play video would make it better, but works great on all the phomes and tablets in the house.
Was really good. Own 5 roku 3's. Since updating it always starts on last used. It works great but it will not allow you to switch to the other roku's on the network. It shows you are pushing the right button but it won't take you to the screen to switch devices. App is up to date, Android is up to date, galaxy s7 up to date. Task kill all apps and it still opens to last used. Guess I could just uninstall then install each time I need to switch devices but for now there are other roku remote apps out there.
I absolutely loved the previous version of this app but a few days ago they updated. Now the private listening feature which was awesome before, cuts in and out. It seems like when my phone screen turns off the private listening turns off. And even when it's on. Please fix I loved it before because turning on blue tooth and private listening was awesome through blue tooth headset. Now sound cuts out over and over. So frustrating
I love almost everything about the app and how much easier it makes it to navigate. There are 2 things I'm not a big fan of, having to connect to Wi-Fi every time to use the app, and the device (my RokuTV) had to be turned on before you can use the app. These aren't huge issues, as I'm sure those 2 things are crucial for the app to even work but I don't like having to be connected to Wi-Fi constantly.
Great app... 3 points: (1) Knock it off with the "Fandango Now" and "Aol On News" sticky channel buttons. We don't use these and they're a waste of screen real estate! (2) I have 4 Roku devices. "Switch Roku Device" should be a one touch action. Currently, it is hidden in the "Settings" tab. (3) Needs landscape mode.
Good app. Two stars off for lack of one important feature: cannot setup WiFi. Roku must already be on WiFi for it to work. Took my Roku stick on vacation without remote thinking would use this app, and no go. My GS6 has everything that might be needed: WiFi direct, Bluetooth, IR; so should be able to do everything real remote does. Got it to work using iPhone Hotspot trick after hours of research and experimentation.
The app works great. I love the fact that I can jump straight to the Roku channel I want from the remote. I also love having a keyboard for the search features. This thing can even control both my RokuTV & my Roku player from another room. It has glitched once or twice since the last two updates but other than that it's been great.
