Great! Great app only being able to play video would make it better, but works great on all the phomes and tablets in the house.
IP address limits are ridiculous. I don't use a typical range and therefore can not use the app. I'm not going to change my entire network just for you. My IP range should not be a factor in your app when it's all my home network. In fact, I may just return the whole thing and get Amazon Fire TV.
Great control over any roku device. No security implementation in local household, so can easily mess with other roku devices on same network. Can stream any media from phone to tv. Very responsive remote. Can listen to audio playing on tv through phone.
Found a lot of glitches with Model # 3700R. This app runs fantastic with 3600R (2016 model). Although I run my phone in the same Wi-Fi network with the 3700R, it never has access to the device unless I synch the device manually from its settings panel. I even tried manually setting IP address of the 3700R device on the app but it still doesn't work. It's a shame that one Roku works the other doesn't on the same network.
No longer able to cast videos from the Roku App, the only thing you can cast with it now is photos, music, and screensaver. You ise to be able to cast videos that was locally on your phone through the app, but not now. Why was this removed/disabled ?
I'm this close from uninstalling. I had to hard-reset the Roku Now box and this app (once worth 5*) didn't recognize it. I tried manually, it said I used the wrong user and/or password (even though I had them written down). I asked for a new password, it had my email address (triple-checked that it was correct), it said I had an hour to follow the email instructions. Fair enough, but that was 24 hrs ago. Still no email! Am having to use the v badly-designed original RC. BTW, not sure whose problem this is but every app I use on the box drops out randomly. I followed the"help" instructions and currently I'm having longer periods between drop out. If it's the box maker, Sky or every app maker (unlikely), someone needs to pull their finger out. I'm not the only one in the same circumstances (I think it started after the automatic update in June) and you're undoubtedly getting a lot of unhappy customers.
Adding to review. Got it to work then one day later it won't connect. I guess if you have a cable modem you have to buy a seperate modem for it to work. Junk
