About this app

RunTeaming is a running league for people who already run.

You never log a run. RunTeaming reads what your watch or phone already recorded through Health Connect, scores it, and counts it for your team. No timer to start, no workout to upload, nothing to remember.

HOW IT WORKS

Your best run of the week counts. One run, not a total and not an average, so a single good morning is enough, and you have the rest of the week to go again and score more.

You are on a team of five, matched head to head against another team every week. New opposition each week, new teammates each month. The best four scores count for the team, so one missed week does not cost your teammates the match.

Scores are levelled with a bowling-style handicap, so a slower runner having a good week beats a quicker runner coasting. Divisions are made from how you run, not ranked against anyone, because which division you are in is not meant to tell you that you are worse than anybody else.

Score more than your own best and you are rewarded for it, whichever division you are in.

Tap a teammate's name to see how their score was made: their best run, their handicap, their average and how many runs they logged.

WHAT IT READS

Four things from Health Connect, and only for sessions your phone recorded as a run: the session itself, distance, speed and heart rate. Distance and time make your score. Heart rate is used only to tell a run from a bike ride, and never earns a point.

There are no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking. You can delete your league record - your runs, scores, team place and account - from inside the app in one step.

REQUIREMENTS

An Android phone with Health Connect. Works with runs recorded by your phone, by Samsung Health or by Garmin. RunTeaming is free while it is in open testing. An iPhone version is on the way.
Similar to a bowling league, for runners. It makes training way more fun.

What’s new

Four pages instead of five, and less on each. Same game.

Runs, Team, Matchup, You. Home and League are folded into You: your account, your money back, your record and your division table.

Team and Matchup show each runner's name and score only. Tap a name and a card opens with the details: best run, handicap, average, and runs this week.

Swipe between pages. Plainer words throughout. Scoring is unchanged: best run plus handicap plus a point per run.
