SafeAfter is a fully offline digital vault built for situations when you don’t want to share sensitive data today, but want trusted people to be able to access it if something happens to you.
Setup is simple. You open the app, complete a short onboarding, and set 3 to 15 personal security questions. When access is needed, your family opens the app, taps “Family access”, answers your questions, and gets access to the stored data.
SafeAfter does not use a dead man’s switch. There are no timers or automatic triggers. Access is based on knowing the correct answers and having access to the device where the vault is stored.
The app works 100% offline and does not require an internet connection. It does not request network permissions. All data is stored locally on the device and encrypted using system-level security. On Android, data is protected with Android Keystore. If system backups are enabled, encrypted data may be included in Android backups, but SafeAfter itself never uploads or sends your data anywhere.
You can currently store passwords, crypto wallets with recovery phrases, notes, and photos. The free version allows up to 5 passwords, 1 crypto wallet, unlimited notes, and up to 3 photos. Unlimited storage is available with a one-time purchase, no subscriptions.
More categories are planned, including payment cards, financial data, documents, and final wishes.
SafeAfter is designed to be easy to use for both technical and non-technical users. Setup takes only minutes, and importing from popular browsers and password managers is supported.
SafeAfter helps ensure your most important digital information stays private while you’re here, and accessible when you can’t share it yourself.
