About this app

Sailino is where people who are at home on, in or around the water meet — skippers, motorboaters, paddlers, divers and swimmers. Local knowledge, shared by the people who were actually there, and the tools to use it aboard.

THE COMMUNITY
– A feed of what other sailors have put on the chart: anchorages, hazards, harbour notes, whole passages
– Put your own spots on it, with photos and ratings. A note from somebody who anchored there last week beats any pilot book
– Communities to join by region, boat or interest, each with its own posts, discussions and shared routes
– Follow the sailors whose water you care about, and see what they are up to
– Messages and group chats, one to one or with your crew
– The radar shows who is around you right now, and lets you reach them

PLACES, AS PEOPLE FIND THEM
– Anchorages, marinas, harbours, slipways, waterway locks and hazards
– Every spot carries photos, ratings and comments from the people who used it
– Search around the boat, or anywhere you are planning to be
– Add what is missing — the map is only as good as the last person who cared

THE CHART
– Sailino's own sea chart, drawn from OpenStreetMap and OpenSeaMap data
– Sea marks in proper IALA symbology: buoys, beacons, lights and their characteristics
– Sharp at every zoom, from an ocean crossing down to a boat length
– Live navigational warnings from NGA, ELWIS and EuRIS, on the chart and as a list

RECORD THE PASSAGE
– Start the recorder and the track draws itself, day by day, each day its own colour
– Keep a logbook as you go: notes, positions and photos, tied to the moment they were taken
– Every leg stays separate, so a two-week cruise reads as the days it was made of
– Runs with the screen off and with no signal at all — the track stays on the phone until you choose to share it
– Share a passage as it happens, so people ashore can follow along

ANCHOR WATCH
– Set the circle, and the alarm sounds if the boat leaves it
– It judges the centre the boat swings around rather than its raw movement, so normal swinging on the chain raises no alarm
– An early warning tells you how much room is left, before the alarm itself

ALSO ABOARD
– Rain radar, compass, and a profile for your own boat
– Ship browser: look up a vessel, or keep your own
– Offshore Mode: the app stops reaching for the network entirely

Sailino speaks English, German and sixteen more languages.

Free to use, paid for by occasional sponsored cards in the feed.

Important: Sailino is an aid to navigation, not a substitute for official charts, up-to-date publications and good seamanship. An anchor watch supplements a proper watch — it never replaces one.
