Pay to play. So many events are locked because you don't have certain characters. And the only way to get them is to buy them or wait until the event is nearly over. It even locks out entire things of content. You can't progress in the story if you aren't high enough level and some of the challenges are timed ones that you need premium characters for. Really crummy system. The game is really fun besides that.

Its a fun and simple strategy match game. But the mechanics are setup so you have to spend real money to level up and access all of the basic content. Game modes are repetitive and do not offer much variation. The whole design seems sterile and really made for higher level players and factions. Getting to those levels seems a bit boring to me.

ONLY DOWNLOAD IF YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN! I've played this game for a couple of years and up until recently I have loved it. There was a great team/faction element that made the game very fun and promoted camaraderie amongst your teammates. Recent changes have removed most team modes and the game is nearly unplayable. You also can't be competitive unless you SPEND BIG. While this may sound good in theory, it couldn't be further from the truth. Many long time players have quit and I may as well.
