Screen Translate works with games from Japanese, Korean, Chinese and other regional servers. Full screen covers the interface, region mode targets dialogue and menus, and auto mode follows the story without any tapping. Your own glossary keeps character names, skills and items consistent.

📖 Manga translator for comics and webtoons
Speech bubbles are detected on your phone, vertical and horizontal text is recognised, and the original artwork is restored behind the translation, so manga, manhwa, webtoons and comics still read like a page.

🎬 Subtitle translator for videos
Subtitle mode watches the subtitle line in videos and streams and updates the translation when the line changes.

📷 Camera, photo and image translator
You can take a photo of a sign, a menu or a label to translate it, or open a picture from your gallery. In the editor you can move text boxes, change fonts and colours and fix a misread word, then save or share the image.

📄 Document translator for PDF and Word
A whole PDF, Word or TXT file is translated in one go, and you can save the translation as a new file.

Accessibility notice
Screen Translate uses the Accessibility Service to read the text that is on screen, and only for translation. That text goes to the engine you chose and is never stored on our servers. With on-device OCR it never leaves your phone.

Ratings and reviews

It has a few flaws. The first is that the text box for translation is really small. The second is that it doesn’t translate while you’re typing. The third is that it doesn’t have automatic pronunciation. And every time I want to translate, I have to tap to bring up the keyboard—it doesn’t pop up by itself, which is super annoying.

Honestly, it is one of the best screen translation apps. The translation accuracy is close to human translation, and the translation error rate is negligible. The reason is that there is more than one text recognition engine. The best of them is (YouDao) and then (Google). I will never forget the amazing technical support and their quick response to solve any translation and text recognition issue I had in the past and it was resolved quickly.

I can't download pdf translation file in device, why?

What’s new

We fixed a translation failure that happened right after the app started

• Russian, Thai, Arabic and other languages could fail to translate right after you opened the app. That is fixed now.
• The app now prepares the recognition engine more reliably, so the first translation after a cold start works.
