This application is for use by registered YouGov research participants to participate in research managed jointly by YouGov and Screenlake.
Purpose: The point of a brand survey is to understand your experience with brands. But, on the smartphone, you can encounter brands really often, in any app, at really quick speeds, and it’s tough to remember or even notice it all.
Screenlake’s role is to notice and register when a brand appears on your smartphone screen, automatically.
When you set this app up, it saves you the time of responding to surveys by auto-tallying your encounters with famous brands. You don’t have to change your behavior, answer questions, or do any work.
Screenlake (the company running this app) never knows or collects your name, email address, or other direct identifiers.
Opt-In Accessibility Service:
To enable the collection of screen text, Screenlake requires you to grant the accessibility service permission. This ensures accurate and reliable detection of brands you'd otherwise have to manual enter survey responess about.
You have full control over the accessibility service and can enable or disable it at any time through your device settings and through clear buttons within the app's home page.
Data Usage:
The detected text data is processed on-device into indicators of sentiment toward brands and brand-relevant topics, and is solely used for market research analytics purposes. This data is used for anonymous and aggregate brand affinity evaluation in the same manner as brand-related survey answers are used: identifying trends, measuring interest, and making informed decisions around market research and product launches.
