Dhira is a calm home screen for people who open their phone for one thing and lose an hour.
It replaces your launcher with something plain on purpose: a clock, your handful of real apps, and Pebble — a small character that reflects how your day is going. Stay on track and Pebble is green and relaxed. Fall into a doomscroll and it turns red and frazzled. It's a nudge you feel before you see the numbers.
Under the quiet surface, Dhira watches for the pattern that eats your time — the fast, endless scroll of Reels, Shorts and TikTok — and helps you step out of it.
What it does:
• Catches short-form scrolling. Using Android's Accessibility Service to detect the rapid-scroll pattern of Reels/Shorts/TikTok, Dhira can quietly send you back home instead of another 40 minutes gone.
• A breathing pause before habit apps. A few seconds of nothing before a feed opens — enough to ask "do I actually want this right now?" Free on your most-used app.
• App timers. Give an app a daily budget. When it's up, Dhira shows you and closes it.
• Focus schedules and free periods. Block the right apps at the right times; leave a window open when you want one.
• A reel budget (Pro). Count every Reel, Short and TikTok you watch; when you hit your daily number, the feed closes for the rest of the day.
• A dashboard that's honest. Today's screen time, pickups, reels watched, and a seven-day trend — no streaks-as-guilt, just the picture.
How short-form detection works: Dhira uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect the rapid vertical-scroll pattern typical of Reels, Shorts and TikTok feeds inside the apps you choose to monitor, and to close those feeds or block specific in-browser sites on your behalf. This is the only purpose of the Accessibility Service — Dhira never reads, records or transmits the content of your screen, and never changes your device settings. You'll see a clear on-screen disclosure and must explicitly grant this permission in Settings before it's used; you can revoke it at any time from Settings without affecting the rest of the app.
Everything runs on your device. Dhira has no account, no sign-in, and makes no network calls — it works fully offline, in airplane mode. Nothing about your usage ever leaves your phone.
Dhira is free to use. A one-time or subscription Pro unlock adds the extras — custom wallpaper, more breathing-pause apps, launch prompts, site blocking, app groups, focus schedules, strict sessions and the reel budget — but the core stays free forever.
