About this app
Play all the audiobooks and Podiobooks you've added to your library at Scribl.com, including all our paid and free audiobooks. Please be aware: You CANNOT create an account or add books through the app. The app is only a player for your account on Scribl.com, which you must create via your web browser.
Before you try the app, you can see what's in your Library on Scribl.com in your web browser. Just hit your account button at the upper right of https://www.scribl.com, and select "My Library" (or just go to https://www.scribl.com/library). This app provides the optimum experience to play any of the audiobooks that appear there. It does not include an e-reader for the ebooks yet, only audiobooks.
Recent updates adds continual play, resume where you left off, sort books by last-listened date, offline storage to play whenever and wherever you want, and support for all our free Podiobooks. The player controls are not available through the Scribl.com website and require use of this app.
All paid titles feature Scribl's CrowdPricing ($CP), where prices are set by fans and even the highest prices are a great deal. It's the fairest pricing on the Internet. If you're looking for self-published audiobooks, Scribl has you covered.
Use Story Elements at Scribl.com to find the fiction or true stories you'll love. Search by Elements that define the main character, like gender or religion. Search by Elements that define the setting, like time period, or use of magic or technology. Search by Elements that define the mood of the book, like mystery, humor, and romance. Combine these in any way you want to define your own genres and view only the books that match your preferences.
We have recently added Knowledge Books. These are nonfiction books on the topics our self-publishing authors know well.
LIMITATIONS WITH THE CURRENT VERSION
Only supports playing audiobooks from your Scribl library. For everything else, it is still necessary to go to Scribl.com. We plan to bring more and more capabilities of the web site into the app over time.
Does not yet support reading your ebooks, but that will both be coming in a future release.

Its great for easy acess to the books i want to listen to but the constant pausing in the middle of listening is annoying. When i take my headphones out and put them away playback continues which is also a problem. I can browse books via the app either. Room for inprovement for sure! The same problem persists almost a year later

Mariah, many thanks for the feedback. We're not able to reproduce the pausing you described. I have reached out to you directly to get more info on that and troubleshoot. Currently there is no way to browse books in the app -- you do have to add them to your Library at Scribl.com, then they will be available to download and play in the Scribl app.

The app pauses audio books regularly and each time it loses your position. Hopefully you remember which chapter you were on. This makes getting through a long book painful and extremely annoying.

Mike, thanks for the feedback. We STRONGLY agree with you that's a "resume where I left off" feature is a critical missing feature. We're working to add this now. However, we've not heard of the pausing problem you describe. Could you contact us through the support link in the app (or at Scribl.com) so we can help you with this?

In it's current state this app is completely useless, I could design a better app with my eyes closed. They need to look at the smart audiobook player app and basically copy every feature including playback speed. If it gets massively upgraded I will update my review.
