Scrollyx lets you use an Android phone without ever touching the screen. The front camera recognizes simple hand gestures, and Scrollyx translates them into actions within any app.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Scrollyx was designed for people who have difficulty touching the screen accurately or repeatedly:
- Tremors (Parkinson's disease, essential tremor)
- Joint pain or stiffness (osteoarthritis, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome)
- Reduced strength or fine motor skills in the fingers
- A hand in a cast, bandage, or immobilized after an injury
- Partial amputation or limb difference
It is also useful in any situation where your hands are unavailable: when cooking following a recipe, wearing gloves, with wet or dirty hands, or in a workshop.
GESTURES
- Swipe your hand across the screen → move to the next or previous item (article, photo, video, post)
- Make a fist → click
- Hold your palm still → pause, then, if you continue holding: go back, then return to the home screen
Three gestures are all you need. They flow naturally: the longer you hold your hand, the further the action goes.
CURSOR MODE
To target a specific area of the screen, activate the cursor: a point follows your hand in real time. Position it over what you want to touch, and the click is triggered automatically, without you having to move your fingers. This is the same technique used by eye-tracking devices, chosen because it requires minimal dexterity.
ADAPTS TO YOUR HAND
Every hand is different, and a shaky or poorly closed hand doesn't resemble the one a software program has been calibrated for by default. Scrollyx is therefore fully adjustable:
- Guided calibration that measures your actual hand
- Live test screen: You see exactly what the camera detects, allowing you to understand and correct any awkward gestures yourself
- Sensitivity, time before automatic click, delay between actions: everything is adjustable
- Battery saving mode

Camera images are analyzed only on your phone and are never saved, sent, or shared—including with us. No account is required.
Scrollyx displays a banner ad (Google AdMob) to fund its development. In the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, a consent screen allows you to opt in before any personalized ads are displayed.
PERMISSIONS
- Camera: to detect your hand gestures
- Accessibility service: to replicate the corresponding touch gesture in other applications
- Persistent notification: to ensure continued detection while you use another application
These permissions are used solely for this function.
