About this app
Scammers can reach anyone with a phone number or email address. But what if you could recognize their tricks before they work?
SHIELD is a free, gamified scam awareness app that trains you on real-world fraud — phishing texts, smishing, vishing, romance scams, tech support cons, fake job offers, investment fraud, crypto schemes, and more. Built by a cybersecurity veteran, SHIELD was born after his own father nearly fell victim to a phone scam.
HOW IT WORKS
Every quiz is built from real scams people encounter every day. Read a suspicious text, email, or scenario. Spot the red flags. Get instant feedback explaining each question as you progress. You'll build instincts that last a lifetime.
GAMIFIED LEARNING — BECAUSE SCAM AWARENESS SHOULD BE FUN
• Track your $ Saved — see how much money you've protected by learning to spot scams
• Build daily streaks to stay sharp
• Unlock 16+ achievements like Fraud Fighter, Scam Shield, and Triple Perfect
• Climb the leaderboard and compete with other users
• Choose your avatar and customize your profile
YOUR PREPAREDNESS SCORE — FREE
Track how ready you are to spot scams with your personal Preparedness Score. It updates as you complete quizzes, rewarding accuracy, consistency, and breadth of knowledge. Watch it climb from Vulnerable to Shield Ready.
SCAM CATEGORIES COVERING REAL THREATS
Phishing, smishing, vishing, social engineering, impersonation, advance-fee fraud, romance scams, tech support scams, investment fraud, employment scams, e-commerce fraud, lottery scams, identity theft, cryptocurrency scams, and more. If scammers use it, SHIELD covers it.
FREE TIER — NO CATCH
Create an account. Take every quiz in the library. Track your progress. Earn achievements. Compete on the leaderboard. All free. Zero charge. SHIELD's mission is to make scam awareness accessible to everyone.
PREMIUM — KNOW YOUR BLIND SPOTS
• Scam Defense Score: A personalized risk assessment powered by Bayesian analysis that reveals which scam types you're most vulnerable to
• Real-World Threat Intelligence: See where your data has been exposed in actual breaches, powered by Have I Been Pwned
• Scam Submissions: Encountered a scam in the wild? Submit it and our AI turns it into a quiz that protects the entire community
WHY SHIELD EXISTS
Scam education today is scattered — a TikTok post here, a news segment there, a warning from a friend after it's already too late. That's not a system. That's luck. SHIELD is the intentional way to build scam awareness. Quick, structured, and effective.
Scammers need you to fall for every step in their chain. You only need to catch one red flag. SHIELD gives you the knowledge to break the chain.
The best defense is you.
