🌊 EBRU — TURKISH WATER MARBLING
The centuries-old art of painting on water, inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Pigments float on the surface, swirl into clouds, blossom into flowers and stars — and every print is one of a kind.

Authentic Turkish tools you won't find in other drawing apps:
- Damla (Drop) — release pigment onto the water in three sizes
- Biz (Awl) — pull through the paint with a fine, medium or thick needle
- Tarak (Comb) — sweep the surface with a coarse, medium or fine comb

Eleven historical Ottoman patterns: battal (the foundational stone pattern), gelgit (flowing tides), taraklı (combed waves), kumlu, somaki, bülbül yuvası (the legendary Nightingale's Nest), şal, yıldız, hatip, lale and gül. The word ebru means cloud-like, from the Persian abri. The art was perfected in the Ottoman court and has been practised in Turkey for over five hundred years.
