About this app

SIFT is a statistics and reference app for two US lottery games: Powerball and Mega Millions.

It does not sell tickets, take wagers, or handle money of any kind.

WHAT IT DOES

• Past winning numbers
Every Powerball and Mega Millions draw on record, searchable by date. See the numbers, the draw date, and how each of our filters would have handled that draw.

• Number statistics
How often each main-ball number has come up, how long since it last appeared, and which numbers it has been drawn with. All figures come from the published draw history.

• Data-backed filters
Each filter rules out a set of main-ball numbers based on the draw history, leaving a smaller pool to choose from. Generate five lines at once from what is left, or turn individual numbers back on yourself — the board shows exactly what was ruled out and why.

• The special ball stays yours
SIFT never analyzes the Powerball or the Mega Ball. Narrowing a pool that small would split the sample until the statistics mean nothing, so we do not pretend to. You pick that number, or let the app roll it at random.

• Check a ticket
Point the camera at the barcode on a ticket you already bought and see the result of a draw that has already taken place. The image is never saved or transmitted.

• Save your picks
Keep the lines you like. No account required on the app.

WHAT IT IS NOT

SIFT does not predict winning numbers, and it cannot improve your odds. Every drawing is an independent event. A filter narrows the list you choose from; it does not change the chance of any particular number being drawn. Any app that tells you otherwise is selling you something.

There is no purchase, no wager, no in-app currency, and no prize of any kind inside this app.
