I've had a lot of fun messing with Hexen's modules. It's a great tool for learning about modular synthesis and music. In just a month, I've gone from struggling to understand the basics of patch building to making some decent beats. I think it could benefit from a more robust tutorial mode, but folks who enjoy trial and error can get a lot out of Hexen. The free version is fully featured, but I think it's totally worth paying for.

I thought this would be an okay "scratch notes" app for modular synthesis, but it is far more fully featured than I expected. You can really do a lot with this app. Totally worth the fee for premium. Some things I'd like to see though: - The ability to "group" modules and move then together. Bonus points if you could import a group into a different rack. - Mult modules. yeah, the cables are "stacking" but mult modules can make the routing clearer.

Super cool, even without upgrading, which I probably will do... I had no idea how to do anything at first but the help PDF file had a useful tutorial, and from there I messed around with the "radio" module to play music and simultaneously sample it (the module has a number of live stations, including some talk shows which can lead to fun sampling). Long story short, it's the beginning of some pretty fun experiments. Helps to have a stylus, using the fingers isn't easy.
