It's a pretty cool gallery app. I was looking for something that could do anything that the default gallery app on my LG V20 could and this is the closest I have found. That default app had any photos taken in the camera folder ( in dcim) appear at the very top above everything else. I liked that and although this doesn't, you can pin folders so just make sure nothing comes before camera alphabetically and is also pinned if you want camera pics to show up first at the very top.

This gallery app is smooth, clean and I do highly recommend it. I love that you can briefly edit the photos but I have had a problem for the last couple of months. After cropping my pics, the app freezes on the export. it used to work fine but has been off for awhile. I'm on a Pixel 8 Pro (android, a good quality phone that's up to date). other than that, I love it and still use it everyday.

I use this as my default media gallery app so I'm not forced to use Google photos for my pics and videos since I have a Motorola phone and they want you to use Google by default and I was tired of being asked if I want to back up my images and videos to the photos cloud (I didn't want them backed up) and it has been great for me! I think I prefer it even over the standard gallery app that comes with most android devices!
