🦀 Sir Catch-a-lot is the app for those of you who fish for crab and lobster with pots along the Norwegian coast.

Everything you need for crab and lobster fishing in one place: find good crab spots, plan where the pots will be placed, keep track of your catch – and get out and back home safely with precise sea maps and GPS position for all of Norway. Free, without advertising and without in-app purchases.

🦀 FIND THE CRAB
• AI suggestions for crab spots: a model trained on depth, bottom type and biology shows green dots where the hermit crab is likely to be.
• Tap on the sea and see the depth and bottom type before you release the pot.
• Register your catch per pot – species, number, bait, standing time, depth and note.
• Reuse a good pot spot: place a new pot on the exact same spot, and see how many crabs the spot has yielded over time.
• The catch log shows which crab spots are actually delivering, turn by turn.

🎣 PLAN AND SMOKE YOUR POND
• Plan your ponds: choose the number of crab ponds and radius, or mark the spots yourself by tapping on the map.
• Set trip and pull trip: you get route, course, speed and ETA to the next pond, with sound and voice signal when approaching.
• Standing time and smoking warning, so the ponds don't stay standing for too long - whether it's crab fishing or lobster fishing.
• Export and import ponds and catch when you change phones.

🗺️ NAVIGATION AND NAVIGATION FOR ALL OF NORWAY
• Precise nautical charts from the Norwegian Mapping Authority with depth data.
• Sea route around land and skerries - the route never cuts over land, and takes into account depth and the boat's draft. Sailing boats get a safer, deeper path.
• Over 15,000 beacons, lighthouses with light characteristics and colored light sectors.
• Fairways (Main and Sideways) are included in the routing.
• “My fixed lei”: map your favorite races, then the routes follow them.
• The app learns which routes you actually drive, and prefers them later.
• Homeport, bookmarks and “course home”.
• Find the nearest port, fuel, shop or restaurant – with sea route and ETA there.

📋 RULES FOR CRAB AND LOBSTER, WEATHER AND FOOD SAFETY
• Crab rules and minimum sizes where you stand – crab, king crab, escape opening and marking.
• Lobster rules: season, registration requirement, minimum size 25 cm and maximum size 32 cm, protected roe lobster, rotten thread, marking with participant number and night ban. The Oslofjord got its own limit in 2026 – 5 pots, not 10 – and the app knows where you are.
• Prohibited zones and protection zones drawn on the map, with a link to the rule.
• Mussel warning from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority: are the shellfish safe to eat, and when was the last sample taken.
• Weather from the MET with 3 days' notice, wind and waves - and tides.

The app covers the entire Norwegian coast - from the Oslofjord, Hvaler and Southern Norway to Western Norway, Trøndelag, Helgeland and Northern Norway.

⚓ MADE FOR ON-BOARD USE
Large buttons, one hand on the steering wheel, and the screen stays awake while you drive. Choose your boat type – dinghy, cruiser, cruiser or sailboat – and the speed, ETA and draft are adjusted accordingly.

Sir Catch-a-lot is a hobby app for recreational fishermen, boaters and families at the cabin who cast two to ten casts. No advertising, no in-app purchases, no user account. Your casts and catch remain on your phone.

The app is an aid, not an approved navigation system. Depths, routes, zones and suggestions are approximate and may contain errors. Always use official nautical charts, your own seamanship and mandatory safety equipment. You are responsible for safe travel. Mye bedre sjøkart

Fjordmidter som appen før leste som land er nå farbare - 148 kvadratkilometer nytt vann langs hele kysten. Vi fant det ved å sjekke kartet mot Kystverkets farleder. Flere ruter som tok lang omvei går nå rett fram, blant annet i Vestfold og Oslofjorden.

Vær og vind

Ruta bruker alltid fersk værmelding, og i innstillinger velger du selv fra hvor mange sekundmeter appen skal ta hensyn. Er det for lite vind til å søke le, sier den fra i kurs-linja.
