About this app

When you were an employee, tax time meant a W-2 showed up. Nobody hands a business owner that form. SlimBooks is how self-employed service providers — consultants, freelancers, creators, developers, 1099 contractors, sole proprietors, and single-member LLCs — make one: a tax-ready Schedule C (Form 1040) summary built from your business spending, without you having to learn bookkeeping.

It's an expense tracker for people who file their own taxes — or who'd rather hand a clean tax report to their accountant. No shoebox of receipts, no accounting software to learn.

HOW IT WORKS
- Connect your bank securely through Plaid, or import a CSV
- On mixed accounts, swipe to separate personal from business — left for personal, right for business
- Categorize business expenses into real Schedule C categories. SlimBooks suggests as it learns your vendors
- Generate a clean report of income, expenses, and deductions, ready for your accountant or your tax software

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
- Purpose-built for Schedule C filers, not scaled-down small business accounting software
- No accounting vocabulary required — you sort write-offs by swiping, not by learning double-entry bookkeeping
- Track your deductible expenses year-round, so you're not missing any write-offs come tax time
- Your bank credentials are never stored — connections run through Plaid, the same infrastructure other major financial apps use

WHAT IT'S NOT
SlimBooks doesn't file your return and doesn't give tax advice. It also doesn't track inventory or cost of goods sold — it's built for people who sell services, not products. SlimBooks does the sorting, so your accountant bills you for expertise instead of data entry.

PLANS
- Manual — free. Import CSVs, categorize, and generate reports.
- Autopilot — automatic bank sync and categorization. $12/month after a 14-day free trial.

Autopilot is billed through our website. Manage or cancel anytime at getslimbooks.com.
