About this app
StayLatch is the guest app for Highfield Apartments. It shows the stays you
have booked, tells you exactly where to go, and lets you into your apartment
when you get there.
YOUR STAYS, IN ORDER
The stay you are on comes first, then the ones ahead of you, then the ones
you have finished. Every stay carries its photo, its dates, and the hour your
door access stops working, so nothing has to be remembered.
GETTING THERE
The address and the map are at the top of the stay, because a guest opening
the app in a taxi wants the street before anything else. One tap hands the
directions to whichever maps app your phone already uses.
GETTING IN
Stand at the building and tap unlock. The app checks you are actually there,
takes one photo to check your face against the ID already on your booking,
and then opens the door — either by releasing your keypad code or, on doors
fitted for it, by opening the lock directly over Bluetooth. Your access
begins the moment you confirm your face.
The decision is never made on your phone. The server checks your booking is
confirmed, that you are inside your stay window, that you are at the
building, and that the face is yours. Locks opened over Bluetooth set their
own challenge and judge the answer themselves.
SIGNING IN
Use the same email and password as the booking website. There is no separate
registration: if you have booked with us, you already have an account, and
the details you change on the website appear here.
PRIVACY
The photo you take at the door is used once, to check it against the ID on
your booking, and is not kept on your phone.
Your location is read only at the moment you ask to be let in. StayLatch
never tracks you in the background and never asks for background location
permission.
Your session is held in your phone's own secure keystore. It is a working
key to somebody's flat and is treated as one.
