Sensitive Device Permissions:
Notification Access (Automated Media Tracking)

Scucha uses Notification Access to identify and log media sessions from apps that support standard Android media controls, such as Spotify, YouTube, Audible, and web browsers.

How it works:
Media Sync: It reads media metadata (title and artist) and playback status (play/pause) directly from your device's media notifications.
Automated Logging: This allows Scucha to automatically record the duration of your listening sessions, so your "hours to fluency" are tracked effortlessly in the background.

Privacy Commitment

Local Storage: All data is processed and stored locally on your device.

Optional: AccessibilityService API

To provide truly automated tracking for specific apps, Scucha can use the AccessibilityService API. This is an optional feature that allows the app to recognize when you are engaging with language content in apps that do not share standard media metadata, such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Netflix.

How it works:
Detection: It identifies when a tracked app is in the foreground and active.
Content Identification: It reads on-screen information (such as video titles, channel names, and captions) to automatically identify the content you are consuming.

Automation: It automatically starts and stops your immersion timer based on this live data, ensuring every second of your immersion is captured without manual input.
