About this app

Vintage Camera is a film camera for your phone. Pick a film, see it live in the viewfinder, and shoot: the photo you get is exactly the one you framed, with the grain, the light leak and the orange date stamp you saw before you pressed the shutter.

Twelve film looks, each with its own colour, grain and light leaks: warm everyday colour, an honest 400 speed film, black and white, a square instant print with a white frame, a punchy disposable camera, a cinema look, and six Darkroom films for slide colour, faded seventies gold, hard noir, redscale, expired film and golden hour.

SHOOT LIKE FILM
• The film look is live in the viewfinder, not added later: what you frame is what you get
• Every shot is an exposure on a roll of 24 or 36, with a film counter on the camera
• A date stamp camera: the orange date in the corner, in the order you write dates
• Light leaks that change from frame to frame, film grain, vignette
• Instant camera format: a square print on a cream frame
• Tap to focus, pinch to zoom, flash, self-timer, front camera, grid lines
• Nothing between you and the shutter: the camera screen is only the camera

YOUR ROLL
• Every print is saved to your Gallery in the album Vintage Camera, and you see it land
• The roll is a contact sheet with frame numbers; full rolls are kept like lab envelopes
• Share a print, save it again, or delete it with Undo
• Develop overnight: like a disposable camera, shots develop at 9:00 the next morning
• Film filter for old photos: develop any photo from your Gallery with any film

HONEST
• A vintage camera offline: no account, no upload, no server
• No watermark on your photos
• Six films are always open; the six Darkroom films open for 24 hours with one short video

A vintage camera, a retro camera and a 35mm analog camera look in one app, for photo dumps, trips, nights out and everyday moments.

YOUR PHOTOS STAY ON YOUR PHONE
Photos are developed on your device and never uploaded. The camera is used only to show the viewfinder and take your photos; photos from your Gallery are picked with the Android photo picker, so the app needs no access to your gallery. It uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for anonymous usage and crash reports, and Google AdMob for ads.
Film looks live in the viewfinder: grain, light leaks, date stamp. Works offline

What’s new

Tapping the "roll is developed" notification now opens your roll even if the app was closed overnight.
If you said no to the camera once, or allowed it only one time, the app asks again instead of sending you to Settings.
Undo after deleting a print brings you back to that print.
A finished roll no longer disappears if its last frame fails.
Tap to focus now meters the spot you touched on Instant film.
