I really wanted to love this. It is exactly what I've been looking for in concept. I got the subscription it blocks reels in the app fine but if you want ad blocking you have to use it in the app. Which I don't mind BUT it is incredibly glitchy!!! it's constantly skipping around. won't refresh your feed or clear notifications until it randomly decides it will. it's super bummer because this is exactly what I've been looking for.

I paid a pretty steep premium to curb my Instagram addiction, but I haven't had much improvement because short form content is still available on the app's home feed. I have the "Block Feed" option turned on (and all the other toggles as well), but it's not blocked. I end up scrolling on it like I would regular reels and feeling like a total chud because I'm down $50 and still blowing my afternoons.

there is no world where paying a subscription to "fix" this problem is the solution. a big part of the internet's downfall is the fact that every single thing demands a subscription from you. it doesn't even adjust the apps themselves– which makes sense, they probs don't have the power to do that without getting legally dommed by meta. but muscle memory and pattern recognition are big parts of keeping us trapped in these apps, and this doesn't solve that. so it ends up useless.
