About this app

Color Identifier reads the color at any point, live from your camera or from a photo, and gives you its name and code.

Read a color live
- Point your camera at anything. The ring shows the color under it, updating live, with its name and code.
- Turn on the torch in low light.
- No camera handy? Open a photo from your gallery instead, then pinch to zoom and tap the point you want.

Get the name and the code
- Every color is matched to the nearest name from a built-in reference list, shown next to how close the match is.
- See the code as HEX, RGB or HSL, one tap to switch, one tap to copy.

Keep your colors
- Save a color and it goes into your library with the date and where it came from: live, photo or mix.
- Pin your favorites to the top, and group colors into collections you name yourself.
- Select any colors in your library and export them as a PNG strip, an .ase swatch file for design apps, or a CSV, then share the file.

Mix two colors
- Pick two colors and blend them. Paint mixing (the default) blends the way paint does; Light mixing blends the way light does. Move the ratio slider to lean toward either color, and get the HEX of the result.

Good to know
- The code is the color of that point in the photo or camera frame. Lighting, the camera and your screen all change how a color looks, so a code may not match paint or fabric exactly.
- No account is needed. Your colors and collections are stored on this device.
Point your camera or a photo to name any color and get its HEX, RGB, HSL.

What’s new

Rebuilt for 2.0.0. Colors now get a name, not just a code, live from the camera or from a photo. New: export your saved colors as a PNG strip, an .ase swatch file or a CSV, plus Paint and Light mixing with an adjustable ratio. Pin favorite colors and group them into collections. Your existing saved colors carry over.
