NextMeal is a private, camera-first AI meal scanner and nutrition companion. Photograph a meal or a single grocery food, such as eggs, butter, dry pasta or produce. On supported devices, on-device AI returns an editable estimate for calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fiber, sugar, sodium and ingredients.
Review every result before saving it to your private diary. Set daily calorie and macro goals, see what remains today, and follow seven-day patterns using only meals stored on your device. Settings provides privacy and terms links plus controls for deleting local data. Captured photos are discarded after review; saved entries contain nutrition values, not photos.
Analysis uses vision and language models available directly on compatible devices. There is no cloud LLM or remote meal-analysis service. Model availability and accuracy vary by device, and manual review remains available. Recognition can be completely wrong. All nutrition values are estimates, not medical advice.
Cannot take a photo? Type what you are eating or, where supported, use strictly on-device dictation. Include foods and quantities in natural language, then review and correct the local nutrition estimate before saving. Dictation audio is not saved and there is no cloud transcription fallback.
Connect privately with NextCoach through local device transport. NextMeal keeps a minimized snapshot of daily calorie and macro totals plus current targets, and Settings offers a manual .nextmeal share as a fallback. The export never includes photos, meal names, descriptions, ingredients, advice, confidence, or secondary nutrition details. NextCoach refreshes after you connect NextMeal and bring NextCoach to the foreground; neither app synchronizes while terminated.
