About this app

How do your worst habits affect your life?

What are you willing to do to break them?

Most of us still reach for the thing we told ourselves we wouldn't. That gap, between what you know and what you actually do, is the whole problem. It's not because you're lazy or broken. Doing the healthy thing when you don't feel like it is genuinely hard, and almost nobody trains for it. You already know what's healthy. You just don't always do it.

We think of that ability, doing what's healthy regardless of how you feel, as a kind of strength. Like physical strength, it isn't fixed. You build it with reps, not with more information. Knowing what to do is like reading about a bench press; it doesn't make you stronger. You can't think or talk your way out of a craving any more than you can read your way through a workout. It's a strength, and you can build it just like any other muscle.

Soil is a gym for exactly that. When an urge hits, whether it's junk food, vaping, doomscrolling, bed rotting, or whatever else is running your day, you follow our science-backed instructions, start a timer, and see how long you can hold out. That number is your current strength against that particular urge.

However, following our evidence-based instructions while timing your resistance to urges is only half the battle. Timing your resilience makes you stronger, but it does so slowly. Instead of waiting around for the next urge to build up your strength, you can get stronger before it shows up. That comes from what you do between urges: 100 levels of workouts we carefully put together, each one a little harder than the last. Level up, and you come back stronger for the next urge.

And here's the key: no urge lasts forever. Every one of them fades on its own if you don't give in. So as you keep leveling up, your resistance eventually outlasts the urge itself, and once you can outlast it, it stops running your life.
