About this app

Did your breathing pause after you fell asleep last night? Maybe you woke with a gasp, or your partner heard your breathing go quiet for a moment. Record tonight with the phone by your bed. Tomorrow morning, you can see whether SomniSense flagged a possible pause, when it happened, and listen to the sounds before and after.

START TONIGHT

Before bed, place the phone near you where the microphone will not be covered, then start recording. There is no ring, watch, chest strap, or extra sensor to buy or wear.

CHECK TOMORROW MORNING

If SomniSense flags a part of the recording where your breathing may have paused or become shallow, open it. See when it happened, about how long it lasted, and what part of the night it happened in. Then listen to the sounds before and after.

Instead of stopping at a score, you can return to the recording and check it for yourself.

SEE WHETHER IT HAPPENS AGAIN

Record a few more nights to see whether a similar breathing pattern appears again. Reports place several nights side by side, so you can compare them later instead of relying on memory.

If you change a bedtime habit or your room setup, tag those nights and compare them with nights when you did not make that change. If you see a difference, you can keep watching over more nights, but that still does not prove the change caused it.

FREE AND PRO

Start with Free. For each recorded night, Free lets you review up to 5 breathing moments the app flags, including the sounds before and after. You can also play up to 5 snoring clips—the breathing and snoring limits are separate. Free also includes a brief report every two weeks that brings your recent nights together.

With Pro, you can review more breathing moments and play more snoring clips, look farther back in your history, and view changes over 30 days or 90 days. You can also compare nights with and without a bedtime change and receive more detailed weekly and monthly reports.

PDF reports are currently available in English only.

PRIVACY, HEALTH, AND SAFETY

Sound is analyzed on your phone, and the raw overnight audio is not uploaded to the cloud.

SomniSense is a wellness app, not a medical device. It analyzes sound, not airflow, blood oxygen, breathing effort, or sleep stages. The app uses a model to flag possible pauses or times when breathing became shallow and to estimate how long they lasted. These are not clinically confirmed apnea or hypopnea events. SomniSense does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. For medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, talk with a licensed healthcare professional.
