My favorite kalimba app! No ads, just the beauty of composing and/or playing. Hopefully, the community will add more songs. Easy to use. You can export .wav files of songs, and a tabs pdf export is apparently coming soon. The composing part (if you use it) has a slight learning curve if you don't have a musical background, but it's mostly intuitive. (I'm using this a lot to figure out songs.) Developer is really responsive and friendly. This is absolutely worth the very modest fee.

Once the ads are gone this is much better to use. Impressed at how it can detect the notes I play, makes practicing easier. Two features would make this 5 star material: settings don't stay saved (especially the view mode) and there's no way to save songs you find in the online library to the quick song list in the app. Would also be nice if songs could be sorted by difficulty, but most people have saved that in the title.

Three (3) hours...'playing...with settings. On my third melody (for later use in a composition). The recording function is poor--it appears to record the output from the speakers via the phone mic (and thus, the noise from the room, and worse, the playback level of the recording is a lot louder than the instrument level). (The recording should be internal [direct-to-file]). Thus, I will relegate this app to 'scratchpad' function, which it does well.
