About this app

Sottaku is a language learning app where you can study up to 15 languages: Japanese, Korean, Chinese, English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Latin, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Arabic, Hebrew and Hindi. Study with fast lookups, grammar explanations, audio, flashcards, quizzes and spaced repetition, then bring the language into real conversations by discovering language exchange partners and talking in Sottaku Chat.

I've just created my account and when I tap the Study tab, the app glitches out and it soft locks me into scrolling through the startup questions (how i heard about the app, what features I'm going to use etc). I can't get out of this lock and I can't actually use the app, please fix this (Honor Magic 5 pro)

Requires creating an account using an email address, including email verification, but it never actually sends me an email to verify. Yes, I checked the junk folder. Yes, I asked it to resend the verification, multiple times. Unusable.

This review/feedback is for my first 5 mins in app. Install was fast and easy 5/5 stars App asks if I have any experience (no) and gives me a beginner's guide 5/5 stars First task is learning characters. Starts quizzing me, hasn't told me what characters are. Every answer wrong 0/5 stars. No teaching happened for someone with zero experience, just immediate negative feedback. I'm going to have to find another resource to teach me things, then use the app as a self-test. Not what I expected.

What’s new

Sottaku 5.4.9 improves reading with more accurate word segmentation and grammar support across study languages, plus dictionary popups in side-by-side views. MindGoblin adds a thumb joystick and better reading choices. You can now share celebration images to X. Media autoplay, Chinese language selection, profile city names, dictionary search, and interrupted challenge payments are more reliable.
