STEPS TO E-FILE YOUR FORM 2290 WITH THE EXPRESSTRUCKTAX APP
STEP 1: Create an account.
If you don’t have an account with Express Truck Tax, you will be prompted to create one and enter some basic business information, including your EIN, business name, and business address. Creating an account is absolutely free.
STEP 2: Enter your vehicle information.
This information will be automatically saved in our TruckZone feature so next time you e-file, the information will auto-generate for you. It also saves you time when you need to reference your VIN number and don’t want to search through a bunch of paperwork or go searching on your rig.
STEP 3: Choose a payment method.
First, know the IRS does not accept debit/credit cards as a form of payment for your truck tax. There are three methods of payment accepted by the IRS: check/money order, EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System), or direct debit where you will enter your bank account/routing number. Information on each payment method is provided when you reach this step in the e-filing process.
STEP 4: Review and transmit your return to the IRS.
Before you transmit your return, you will be able to review it and make sure your VIN, EIN, and payment information is correct. Once you are done looking over everything, click the Transmit button and it’s off the IRS for processing. It usually takes a few minutes to process and your Stamped Schedule 1 is sent back instantly.
If your return is rejected for any reason, we will let you know why it was rejected and how to fix the issue. Then, you simply re-transmit your corrected Form 2290 for free.
