About this app

This is ONYU, a GPS recording app for Korea's mountains and trails.

Until now, ONYU was an app for recording your hikes. Now, we are taking a step further—into a trail community where you can read, participate, and walk together.

■ Guidebook — Courses provided by ONYU in your hands

We have organized and included representative trails, such as the Baekdudaegan and the 100 Famous Mountains, by course based on public hiking trail data. If you download a course you like and save it to your personal guidebook, the map and route will open exactly as they are, even in the mountains where there is no signal. We are also adding official courses recorded by the ONYU team while walking them ourselves.

The guidebook is not a book to read alone, but a map to fill together. We share waypoints for each course and provide the latest updates through comments and photos.

■ Features that are truly useful in the mountains

· Follow Course — As you walk along a saved course, the map tells you where you are and where the trail branches off.

· Remaining Distance and Estimated Arrival Time — It calculates how much distance remains to your destination based on your recent pace. · Sectional Elevation Graph — You can see in advance where the uphill sections begin.

· Offline GPS Recording — It is safely saved even without a signal or when the app is turned off.

■ For Those Worried About My Whereabouts

· Check-in — Let your friends know, "I'm starting right here."

· Location Sharing — Send your current coordinates via Kakao Map or Google Maps link. You can also send them via text message or KakaoTalk to family members who do not use Onyu.

· Real-time Track — You can keep your movements visible in real-time while hiking.

Even if you walk alone, someone knows. Safety comes before functionality.

■ A Character That Grows as You Walk

Experience points accumulate and your level rises as you walk. New characters and titles unlock, and your footprints are displayed through six stats: distance, elevation, frequency, and speed. The criteria vary by activity type, ensuring fairness for everyone.

■ Events and Activities

Attend events using a participation code, walk connected courses, and even receive completion certification. The organizers monitor participants' progress via a status board to ensure safety.

■ Magazines, News, and Weather Alerts

Discover reading material categorized by trail, equipment, and course guides. The app automatically displays weather alerts from the Korea Meteorological Administration—allowing you to check in advance whether it is safe to hike today.

■ Show Off Your Walk

Once your hike is over, we create a card containing your route and records. You can upload it directly to Instagram or KakaoTalk, or export it as a GPX file for safekeeping.

What’s new

· 코스를 완주하면 완주와 그때 받은 칭호가 행사 이름과 함께 한 화면에 나옵니다.
· 종점에 도착하면 화면 아래 안내가 남고, 거기서 바로 저장할 수 있습니다.
· 행사 코스가 있으면 「따라가기」 안내가 뜹니다.
· 신호가 끊겨 인정 안 됐다면 운영자에게 문의해 주세요.
· 프라이버시 존이 네이버 지도·공유 이미지에도 적용되고, 내 화면에는 가려진 구간이 회색으로 보입니다.
· 기타: 카운트다운 중 화면을 끄면 기록이 시작되지 않던 것 등을 고쳤습니다.
