This game is fine, it's fun and has a cool style, just like the original. It does, however, have a lot of things that are clunky. The multiplayer is a pain to get to work, and disconnects as soon as you do anything, like open up messenger while the game is still running. I've played online games that keep going while you have the app running in the background, so this is definitely an issue. Additionally, you can only play multiplayer for dungeons that are in the area you are currently in.

After playing for more than 50 hours I feel this is more like a simplified version of Diablo. Just like Diablo the focus is on collecting treasures and multiplayer is mainly for co-op to beat harder bosses and collect items and artifacts rather than advancing the storyline together. So if you have completed a dungeon with a friend, everyone other than the host still needs to repeat the same dungeon as a host or in single player mode in order to progress his/her story(which is required to gain access for advanced crafting...etc.) The advertisement that only one person in multiplayer needs to own a paid copy to complete 13 dungeons is "sort of true" . You have to add each other as friends ( follow each other bidirectionally) in order to join a dungeon without having storyline progress, also if you do not own a paid-copy then you cannot craft better equipments period because you can only craft them in single player mode, and if you cannot progress your storyline without owning a copy. That means everyone needs to pay the same $25 (not very clear in the advertisement) Control is actually better on Android than on Nintendo Switch, but still not ideal due to not having dedicated buttons. Online co-op connection can be unstable so be prepared to lose everything if the connection drops. Like in the original FFCC, it takes A LOT of grinding if you want to craft the best weapon/armor/accessories. You would have to repeat the same dungeons over and over again to get the required ingredients to drop, which, is not too much different from other Diablo clones. But if you don't read the Internet wikis you may not have any clue the criteria to get them to drop. Also make sure to read the wikis how the relationships and merchant levels work before you start...otherwise you may miss some of the best gears in game. Overall, I like the graphics and music, game is generally stable in single player mode but multiplayer connection problems is frequent, also don't leave to get a coffee because they would kick you out of the game if you idle for like 1 minute. I enjoyed playing together with family members although we lost connections more than we would like...sometimes right before picking up the treasure after finishing a dungeon, which sucks. Game may require a lot of grinding if you want the best equipments, but that is to be expected for this kind of game. I hope they would improve the multiplayer connection problems, put dedicated on-screen controls, and allow story progression for all paid copies in future versions....which may take some time to show up... For the $20+ taxes I paid (Google offered a $5 discount upon purchase) I would say I definitely got the money's worth. The DLCs other than the main game are completely optional. But it can save you a lot of grinding if you pay that $5 to buy the weapon sets, if you don't mind making the game too easy to start with.

My two major issue with phone version. 1 No controller support. Not that complicated to add in. Especially for a big game development company. Puts us playing with friends on console at a huge disadvantage. 2 it's literally the same game. The graphics look the same to me. It's "remastered" i feel all was done was a port then adding online...like come on. You couldn't even add more characters or family sprites? Lame. So either laziness or low budget or both. I had high hopes too.
