Ratings and reviews

I'm really enjoying the game and becoming very engrosed in the fights and leveling. I do find the slow collection of rubies to be frustrating. And the incredibly high price for rubies to purchase is dizzying. There's probably going to be a lot of down time waiting for the free daily rewards to make a difference for my characters.

This version of Octopath Traverler has the same feel as the original. differences were the combat, movement, character sprites, story, and mild micro-transactions. That doesn't mean it's bad, far from it. I just find the new mechanics a bit clunky and hard to get to grips with. That's just my personal experience playing the original compared to the mobile version. But overall? It's a solid game with a new twist to the formula of fantasy turn based rpgs. (Also You can play 4 free without paying)

2 stars for design only. Cool idea and all, but this game is ridiculously slow. Cut scenes, loading screens, and don't even try to save up for your character pulls. That's a painfully long process. And for that, they separated "paid" and "free" rubies, which I hate. If you're going to create 2 sources of currency, just do it properly.
