Edit 2 days later... The authenticator broke again and has forgotten its tie to my account. Officially uninstalling. Having a free aetheryte isn't worth dealing with this terrible app. Original review on 4/18: As others have stated in reviews, the app tends to forget you had your account set up and taking note of your emergency password is incredibly important. I had just set up 2FA for my account last week using this app and upon opening the app less than a week later I found it reset, forcing me to remove the authentication mechanism from my SqEnix account. The only reason I'm reconfiguring the app is for the sake of security on my account. Square Enix, please make a better app that stays configured for longer than a week or I'll have to remove it altogether.
Like others have said, this lost association with my account within 24 hours of enrollment. I can't even remove and add it back because there is a lockout timer for using the emergency code. Not being able to access a paid service for a reason like this should be embarrassing for Square.
Make sure that you have your emergency code available to remove the token. In one month this app has lost its config more than 4 times. SQUARE SHOULD REMOVE THIS APP FROM THE MARKET UNTIL IT CAN BE FIXED - Update - Still broken. Loses sync on my nexus 6, Stock android 7.0, once every 2-3 days
Be sure to save your emergency removal password!! This app used to work perfectly, but a recent update has made it such that upgrades to the app cause its data to get reset. This means that every time they make an update, you have to do the emergency removal procedure, then re-register... Every. Single. Time. If you don't have that emergency removal password, be prepared to be locked out of your account for a day or two...
Constantly resets, causing you to go through the Emergency Removal/registration process over and over again, which is annoying enough for me to actually write a review. Update 6/14: Just had this unlink after 2 hours of re-registering. Square support says the issue has already been resolved and closed my ticket. Great.
App reset itself less than 24 hours since it's last reset. I'm now locked out of my account for a day. I don't pay subscriptions to waste my days because of this POS app. Fix this, square.
