Previously this app worked as intended, but after a break from FFXIV I no longer can open the app on my phone without the app crashing immediately. I know if I uninstall the app, I'll be locked out of my account. I also cannot find my backup password, so I'm effectively locked out of my account and will be needing to contact customer support. If it were still useable, it would be five stars based on my experience before this problem.

So, seeing all the negative reviews about this apps data resetting itself, I decided to give it a go. 2 weeks later and it hasn't given me a problem. Works perfectly fine. Only issue is the OTP timer shows max length every time you view it no matter how close it is to expiring but it's no big deal. Also, TO PEOPLE SAYING YOU NEED THIS TO PLAY: You don't! Just leave the one-time password field empty since you don't have one. Been playing 3 years and only just got this; it is completely optional.

The app itself is great, if you have a single carrier or a single SIM card. The moment you use Project Fi or multiple SIMs, the app becomes useless to the user. I ended up going back to an old hardware token because the app would lose settings every time the carrier switched since they have disabled the ability to block phone access for the app. This used to be a great app for me, but I have to give it a failing review now due to the short-sightedness of the dev team to accommodate users who do not fit in to their required use case.
