Stable money. Your bitcoin.
Choose how much of your bitcoin targets a steady USD value—and how much stays exposed to bitcoin’s price. Stable Channels puts that choice in an open-source, self-custodial Bitcoin and Lightning wallet. No stablecoins. No third-party custody.
*Choose your exposure*
Use the balance slider to select the portion you want to stabilize. That portion targets a steady dollar value, while the rest remains exposed to bitcoin’s price movements. Stabilizing a portion means reducing its exposure to both price declines and potential gains.
*Bitcoin underneath. A dollar target on top.*
As bitcoin’s price changes, your wallet and a channel counterparty exchange Lightning payments to adjust your balance toward its USD target. The amount of bitcoin you hold changes—not the asset itself. You hold bitcoin, not dollars or stablecoins.
*Send and receive bitcoin*
Pay and get paid over the Lightning Network. Send and receive on-chain Bitcoin payments. Manage your bitcoin and payments in one wallet, without creating an account.
*Your keys stay yours*
Your private keys are stored locally on your device. Stable Channels does not take custody of your funds. The wallet software is open source, so its code is available to inspect.
*Fees and important details*
Changing between bitcoin exposure and a USD target carries a fee, displayed before confirmation. Lightning routing and on-chain transaction fees may also apply.
Dollar stability is a target, not a guarantee. It depends on available channel liquidity, connectivity, and continued settlement with your counterparty. Sharp price movements or interrupted settlement can cause your balance to depart from its target.
USD amounts represent reference values—not fiat deposits. Stable Channels does not offer fiat deposits or withdrawals or cryptocurrency exchange services.
