Fly into pixel-art air combat. Stormbreak Squadron is a vertical arcade shooter built around precise dodging, automatic fire, a well-timed Pulse and the weapons your enemies leave behind.
TEN OPERATIONS
Fight from Breakwater on the coast to the Stormbreak Citadel in one campaign. Each operation is about 100 seconds of enemy waves, then a boss. Clear it and fly into the next one with the lives, score, weapons and armor you finished with, plus a full Pulse charge. Every new operation brings tougher enemies and bosses, faster bullets, quicker fire and more frequent waves, and later operations send enemies in from the sides and from below sooner. Lose your last life and the run is over. Clear Operation 10 to win the campaign.
TEN BOSSES
Every operation ends with its own boss: the Siege Carrier, Dune Lancer, Leviathan, Magma Fortress, Phantom Carrier, Tempest Ace, Atlas Dreadnought, Hive Cruiser, Crimson Wing and the Storm Core. Each one has its own hull, movement and attack patterns. Destroy its wing guns to expose the core, then finish it while the core pushes forward and fills the sky with bullets.
KEEP MOVING
Drag anywhere on the battlefield to steer while your cannons fire on their own. Aimed shots fly fast and spreads drift slow, so read the fire and find the gap. Ground turrets stay on the ground, and you can fly over them. Trigger Pulse to clear enemy bullets around you, damage nearby enemies and shield your aircraft for a moment.
POWER UP
Enemies drop what they carry. Grab V pickups to widen your vulcan into an eight-way spread, or L pickups for a laser that pierces every enemy in its path. A weapon pickup flips between V and L as it falls, so you choose. Add homing missiles or rockets as a second launcher, and collect repair pickups to build armor that takes hits before you lose a life. Enemies get tougher as your weapons level up.
CHASE THE HIGH SCORE
Every hit and every bonus pickup adds to your score, and your score carries through the whole campaign. Kill an enemy the moment it arrives and its kill bonus pays up to five times as much, fading to the base value over three seconds. Ground turrets leave gold medals worth 200 points. Clear an operation and the stage bonus pays 1,000 per medal, tripled if you never used Pulse and doubled after one, plus 500 for every life left.
PICK YOUR DIFFICULTY
Choose Rookie, Normal or Expert for the whole campaign. Rookie starts you with five lives, Normal and Expert with three, and each difficulty keeps its own best score. A run goes on your record when it ends: at game over, after Operation 10, or when you return to the hangar from a cleared operation's debrief. A run you leave from the pause menu mid-flight does not count.
LEARN THE PATTERNS
Training Flight and Boss Practice stay on Operation 01, Breakwater, with unlimited lives. In Training you fly the whole operation, and Boss Practice takes you straight to the Siege Carrier. Neither one touches your records.
TURN IT UP
The soundtrack has eleven original chiptune tracks. The music speeds up and gets heavier when a boss arrives, and again when you expose its core. Every cannon, laser, missile and explosion has its own sound.
MAKE IT FEEL RIGHT
Adjust movement sensitivity and put the Pulse button on either side. Turn on high-contrast enemy fire, and switch music, sound effects, haptics and reduced effects on or off. Pause mid-flight and get back into the action after a countdown.
