SlipShell is an SSH and Mosh client for Android, made for people who look after their own servers, home labs, and dev boxes. Connect, fix the thing, move the file, and get back to your day.

Stay connected
Mosh keeps a session going through Wi-Fi to cellular handoffs, dead spots, and a phone that went to sleep. Choose SSH or Mosh for each server. If Mosh can't start, SlipShell can carry on over plain SSH and tells you why. Open sessions stay connected in the background while the screen is off, for as long as Android allows. On Android 11 and newer, the sessions you had open come back when you reopen SlipShell after your phone restarts.

Every machine, organized
Save servers with groups, color tags, and search, and drag them into the order you want. Import hosts from your OpenSSH config. Find machines on your local Wi-Fi without typing addresses. Keep up to five sessions open at once and switch between them.

A real terminal
A full xterm terminal with a key bar for Ctrl, Esc, Tab, and the arrows. Search your scrollback. Export a transcript when you need a record of what happened.

Files without a laptop
Browse remote files over SFTP. Upload, download, rename, delete, make folders, and edit text files in place. Transfers carry on in the background with progress in a notification, and an interrupted one keeps its progress so you can resume it.

Keys and trust
Generate or import SSH keys. Passwords and keys are encrypted on the device with a key held by the Android Keystore. A new host shows its key fingerprint before you trust it. Lock the app behind your device's biometrics. Two-factor prompts from your server, like one-time codes or Duo, appear right in the app.

Tunnels
Local port forwarding to reach a service on the far side of a connection. Operator Pro adds remote and dynamic SOCKS forwards, and jump hosts for machines you can only reach through another one.

Repeat work, saved
Command snippets with fill-in parameters, groups of your own, and ready-made snippet packs that work offline. When an update fixes a bundled snippet, you see what changed and can undo it. A snippet you edited yourself never changes without asking.

Themes you can read
Bundled themes including Dracula, Nord, Solarized, Catppuccin, and Gruvbox, with their main text colors checked for contrast so the terminal stays readable. Anyone can design a theme in Theme Studio and preview it on a real terminal. It works out every color so text clears a contrast floor, and turns down a color it can't make readable, with the reason.
