StoryOS is a private writing studio for people actually working on something long, a novel, a series, a world with more moving parts than you can hold in your head. No account. No sign-in. No network permission, period, StoryOS can't send your writing anywhere because it isn't built with the ability to try. Everything you write stays on your device, full stop.

Your story shelf holds every project you're working on, organized and ready to open. Inside, the chapter editor is clean and distraction-free, with live word count and reading time so you can see progress instead of guessing at it.

Characters get their own profiles: appearance, backstory, relationships, arcs. No more scrolling back to chapter twelve to check your protagonist's sister's name. For everything bigger than a character, locations, factions, artifacts, magic systems, history, rules of your world, there's the Codex, built to hold whatever your story needs.

The connections graph maps how your characters and entities actually relate to each other, so you can see the shape of your story instead of reconstructing it from memory every time you open the app. The continuity checker watches for the contradictions that creep into long projects, a changed eye color, a timeline that stops adding up, a character in two places at once, and flags them before your readers do.

There's a real timeline for your story's events, tied to a calendar system underneath it if your world runs on its own dates and seasons. A plot board for structuring beats and arcs before you write a single sentence of prose. Tags organize however you actually think. Notes catch the ideas that show up at the wrong moment. A gallery holds reference images and character art. Search reaches across every chapter, character, codex entry, and note you've ever written. Writing goals and stats are there if you need to see the number move to keep going.

When you're ready to get a manuscript out of the app, export pulls your chapters into a clean, readable document. Backup and restore are entirely yours to control, saved to files you choose, on your own device. Nobody's server. Nobody's dataset.
