This app is a mostly useful companion to the Stringr video wire service. The only trouble I run into is from the fact that you can't change location data like you can on the web interface. It always tags video with an address near where you upload from, not the location you film from. I would prefer not to stay on location just so the address is somewhat accurate, particularly if it's bad weather or a dangerous environment. The staff are always great though, and available by text/email/phone.

If you want to waste your time shooting video at a double homicide, edit & upload the video and not get paid... Be my guest... Just know that there is no payment for your work "unless the end customer (who you have no contact with) chooses to use your work." Of course, you have no way to know if your video was actually used or not. And your time and work into obtaining footage becomes worthless when they tell you that the client didn't use it... Great system! Not!

This is just horrible app, i went to location to shoot what was requested, (car accident in brooklyn), just to give it a shot.. I was told ill get $75. So i did a few shots from different angles, and after i finished, i have returned to my car to immediately upload it. So the app is in very deep pre release state, nothing is working, no progress bar, you don't know if it's uploaded or not, you don't know if it's accepted or not, you can't see miltiple videos for one request.. Never get paid BTW.

Hello Dmitry! We are very sorry to hear about this experience! Videographers are only paid when their video is downloaded by a customer. When your video is done uploading, an 'Upload Complete!' box will pop up prompting you to press "ok" or "my uploads". Please email us at support@stringr.com with any other questions you may have!
