Sukhmani Sahib – Gurbani Paath
Sukhmani Sahib is a sacred collection of hymns composed by the fifth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, and appears in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ang 262. The Bani is divided into 24 Ashtpadis, with each Ashtpadi containing 8 hymns, for a total of 192 hymns.
The word Sukhmani means “Treasure of Peace” — Sukh meaning peace and Mani meaning treasure. Sukhmani Sahib is lovingly recited by Sikhs at home and in Gurdwaras as part of daily spiritual practice. The complete recitation generally takes around 90 minutes, depending on the pace.
