Tanpura Droid is the software version of a Tanpura, this sitar-like instrument used in Indian classical music to play a drone sound throughout a musical performance. Includes real sounds. Good handy app. No data stealing. But the adjustments are too limited. I would like to buy the iShala app (Good reason is that the team gives solutions by answering in the review replies directly, instead of asking to write email like others). But still after checking the images I see that for 1000rs, it does not offer much tweaks and effects either. The volume and other adjustment sliders were supposed to have detailed numbers offering precise increments. All I see is a vague touch and slide.

It's an amazing app...If you are looking for a tanpura app then definitely go for it..! I am studying and stay in a PG..here I do not have any instrument to practise..I searched for a tanpura app and installed it among many options..it's really very useful and easy to use..does it job well..also you don't need a data connection to run it, it's an offline app.

The app was working well until recently. In the last week or 10 days, I have noticed that it stops working or playing in the background if you are not on it. Meaning, if the tanpura is playing and I open a different app, the tanpura then stops playing. I use the tanpura in conjunction with another app for table in order to practice my singing. This is is extremely inconvenient as I now have to use separate phones for each app. Please fix the issue!
