About this game

PHASELINE is a one-tap arcade game. You are a spark running through two parallel
realities split by a line of light. Everything that kills you comes head-on. You
tap the screen and cross to the other side.

That is the whole thing to learn. The first tap is already the entire game.

TWO REALITIES, ONE LINE

Cyan above, magenta below, and the seam between them: the line the game is named
after. An obstacle that fills your reality does not fill the other one, so
crossing isn't escaping, it's choosing. And there is always a way through: it's
been checked pattern by pattern, and not one combination is a dead end.

CROSSING BY A HAIR IS WORTH MORE

Cross with the obstacle right on top of you and the game says so: time stops for
a few milliseconds, the center bursts, the multiplier climbs. Playing safe keeps
you alive; playing on the edge is what builds the score.

PHASE COLLAPSE

Every so often the two realities drift together and the world warps: color
separation, energy fragments, the music tightening. It lasts five to eight
seconds and you have to ride it out.

The warping is in the background, never in the things that kill you. What you
see is where it is: the game will not trick you into losing.

TRIPLE PHASE

Later on a third, golden reality appears. The line opens up, the gold arrives
with a music layer of its own, and for a few seconds you have three lanes
instead of two. It's rare, it's brief, and it changes everything while it lasts.

EIGHT WORLDS THAT OPEN UP AS YOU GO

NEON GRID, DREAM RIFT, CRYSTAL VOID, PULSE CITY, DARK MATTER, SOLAR PHASE,
QUANTUM GARDEN and INFINITE CORE. These aren't palette swaps: each one has its
own painted horizon, background silhouettes across three layers of depth,
floating dust and its own light. They arrive on their own as the score climbs.

A SPARK THAT'S ALIVE

The character isn't a shape stuck to the screen. It blinks, it looks where it's
going, it narrows its eyes when the streak runs long and snaps them wide when
something passes close. The body stretches and the tail follows the path the
head just took, so crossing whips it around on its own.

NINETEEN THINGS TO UNLOCK

Eight skins, six tails and five auras, opened by playing: by score, by streak,
by near misses, by surviving a Phase Collapse. Nothing is bought and there are
no loot boxes.

SOUND MADE FOR THIS GAME

Twenty-nine dry, close effects, and a five-layer soundtrack whose layers fade in
and out with what's happening: the layer that enters on the Collapse and the
golden Triple Phase layer are part of the mechanic, not decoration.

INSTANT RETRY

You die and you're back immediately. No loading screen, no countdown, no lives
running out. The next run starts before you've finished being annoyed about the
last one.

WORKS OFFLINE

The whole game, the music and your progress live on the phone. No account, no
login, nothing to sync.

PERFORMANCE

60 frames per second in the worst case measured, with the heaviest obstacle and
eighty particles on screen.

ABOUT THE ADS

There's a banner at the bottom in a lane of its own: it never covers the track
or the score. Rewarded ads are always optional and tell you what you get before
they start. No ad ever interrupts a run in progress.

Ads can be removed with a one-time purchase.
Tap to jump between two realities and dodge what's coming. One finger, one tap.

What’s new

Bug fixes and improvements:

- Fixed the background not reaching the bottom of the screen, which left a flat
strip below the landscape.
- Trails, skins and auras can now be browsed one by one, including the locked
ones, and each shows what it takes to earn it.
- Locked items can be unlocked with an optional ad, and the one you unlock is
the one you were looking at. Unlocks are permanent.
- Fixed rewarded ads granting their reward when the ad was closed early.
