Embark is a language learning app to help prepare missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Embark can be used by anyone.

Missionaries are encouraged to use Embark once they receive their call, during the MTC as well as while they are on their mission to learn gospel and daily missionary language.

● Record and compare your voice to native speaker to get used to speaking
● Use what you learn right away in real conversation
● Make it your own by creating from what you are learning

Ratings and reviews

Great for popular languages, and the ability to edit content is cool but has turned out to be a quirky bolt-on. I've been working on a non-popular language and have made numerous edits to the flawed content; with v 4.6.21 it has become unusable. Failure of the screen to properly redraw, or to present content at all, have made it impossible to do Spaced Review or even practice words and phrases - so I can't make my goal nor keep up my streak. Will revisit after the next update, hope it improves.

The Feedback button (accessed from the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of a lesson) does not work. It appears to do absolutely nothing. At least, nothing besides removing the "Continue" button from the current lesson being worked on, preventing you from moving on in the lesson. I can either exit out of the lesson to gather the current gathered experience, or I can exit the app. This is from the German suite, it may be different for other languages.

Pretty good. Love that I can use this app to study languages, especially the terms for the church that other apps may not teach. One problem I've noticed so far in the week of using it is many videos in ASL aren't loading when studying or doing the tests, which makes it hard to study and learn new words and have to guess the answer for the tests since I can't see it. Maybe I guess right and pass it, maybe I guess wrong and don't pass. 25% chance of guessing right. Hope that gets fixed soon.
