About this app

Many medicines don’t need to be taken forever. When the time comes and your doctor recommends stopping a drug that you no longer need, or is causing more harm than benefit, TaperMate is here to help!

TaperMate helps you to plan and track your medication taper to safely wean off your meds. Ideal for tapering medications that cause withdrawal symptoms when stopped abruptly – like antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs etc.), benzodiazepines, opioids, mood stabilisers, sleeping pills, stimulants and other psychotropics.

TaperMate puts you in control of your taper.

- Use our simple taper calculator to create taper plans at any rate. Drop by a set percentage or number of mg, at your desired frequency. For example 10% reductions every 4 weeks.

- Choose from 5 Taper methods:
*Tablet Cutting (great for Valium)
*Capsule Combinations (great for compounding)
*Liquid Taper (great for microtapers)
*and Weighing or Bead Counting (great for Cymbalta and Efexor).
We’ll show you how to achieve each dose in mg using the medication and equipment you have on hand.

- Use our symptom and mood tracker features, with daily check-ins to make sure you’re not tapering too fast.

- Set dose reminder notifications and mark each dose as taken to keep a clear record of your taper.

- Generate and export your Taper Report, which includes your taper diary and symptom/mood graphs to see how your dose and symptoms have changed over time.

- Access links to resources to help you better understand concepts like withdrawal and hyperbolic tapering (such as the Maudsley Deprescribing Guidelines), as well as additional support services and other useful information.

A subscription (7-day free trial available) gives you access to all TaperMate features. There are monthly and yearly subscription options for convenience.

so far very happy with this app, very useful to taper off in a hyperbolic or micro-taper fashion. I however do not understand why I am not allowed to use Lamotrigine on the app?

Omg! I love this app. It's so easy to use! And with tons of options to plan your tapering. I'm very impressed with the functionality, ease of use, and price for this app. $9.99 a month is WELL worth it. I highly recommend this. I wasn't sure I'd even find an app for this, but I'm so happy I found it.

not user friendly, calender does not load. need to taper down hormones. This seems to be for tapering another type of meds. not sure! glad it was a free trial!
