About MAAN - Antiviolence & Addiction Program
Proceeding from the vision and directives of the First Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, that it is necessary to adopt effective projects for young people and youth in order to establish the comprehensive security concept adopted by the Ministry as a security strategy to protect this category from all negative phenomena and life risks. His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa presented a proposal to implement an awareness program in the schools of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is the Anti-Violence and Addiction Program (Maan). After reviewing and coordinating with the International Organization to Combat Violence and Addiction DARE in the United States of America, it has been applied for more than 30 years in more than 60 countries around the world and has proven - over the years - its ability to positively influence students' behavior in schools, targeting future generations and the pillars of the nation. Arabization and Bahrainization of the program in line with the values, customs and traditions of the Arab and Islamic Bahraini society.
Maan Vision:
Preparing a conscious generation capable of making optimal decisions to reach a social life free from violence and addiction.
Maan Objectives
1. Strengthening the principle of community partnership and breaking the barrier of fear between young people and law enforcement agencies.
2. Developing the student's life skills.
3. Shedding light on the life challenges that young people may face and eliciting the best options from them.
