About this app

Brain food. Not brain rot.

task4fun is the screen time app that turns minutes on the phone into minutes of learning. Your child earns screen time by answering quick tasks in maths, language, geography, history and general knowledge. The screen doesn't go away. The guilt does.

▸ EARN SCREEN TIME BY LEARNING
Every educational task adds 2 to 10 minutes to your child's screen time balance. Real minutes, not abstract points. The apps your child wants — YouTube, TikTok, games, browsers — are unlocked by knowing the capital of Sweden, solving a fraction, or reading what happened on this day in history.

▸ ADAPTIVE TO ANY AGE, 3 TO 17
Tasks are calibrated for kids 3–5, 6–8, 9–12, 13–17, and even adults. Six categories: maths, language, geography, general knowledge, history (live from Wikipedia's "On this day"), and your own custom tasks.

▸ REAL GAMIFICATION
XP per task, levels, streaks, badges, celebrations. Built so kids want to come back — without being a slot machine. Includes "Coach" guidance and a personal lion avatar.

▸ PARENTAL DASHBOARD
PIN-protected dashboard with 5 tabs: Apps (with three block modes per app — earn-by-task, always blocked, schedule), Tasks (manage and create your own), History, Stats (weekly charts and category breakdown), Profiles (multiple kids on one device — Premium).

▸ PRIVACY-FIRST BY DESIGN
Your child's data stays on the device. No cloud account, no analytics, no behavioural profile, no advertising IDs. GDPR-compliant. Made in Portugal.

▸ FREE TO START
Free version blocks one app and unlocks every educational task. Premium adds unlimited apps and multiple profiles. 7-day free trial, no credit card required. Cancel anytime through Google Play.

▸ AVAILABLE IN 6 LANGUAGES
English, Portuguese (PT/BR), Spanish, French and Arabic — with full RTL support.

ANDROID ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
task4fun uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when an app
you chose to block is opened and to show the educational task on
top of it. This is the only technical way to do parental-control
blocking on Android.

task4fun does NOT record what you type, does NOT read content
inside other apps, does NOT access audio or microphone, and does
NOT send accessibility data to servers — everything happens on
your device.

Before enabling, you'll see an explicit consent screen explaining
what the app does and what it does NOT do, with two clear buttons:
"Decline" or "Accept and enable". You can turn the service off at
any time in Android Settings → Accessibility.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Most parental control apps block. We make screen time earned. Most give empty points. We give real minutes. Most treat screens as enemies. We turn them into teachable moments. Most feel like surveillance. We feel like a coach.

REQUIREMENTS
Android 7.0 or newer.
Accessibility permission required for blocking features.

SUPPORT
info@task4fun.com — we read every email.

DATA & PRIVACY
We don't sell or share your child's data — because we don't collect it. Read our full privacy policy at task4fun.com/privacy. The same version we submitted to Google Play.

A SMALL TEAM, MADE IN PORTUGAL
task4fun is built by an independent team based in Portugal. No conglomerate. No surveillance business model. Just a few people who couldn't find an app like this for their own kids — so they built one.

Less screen. More life.
