About this app

Explore the rich history of the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden alongside original spatial music compositions by DC-based group TCW. Five different scenes, built on recreated blueprints for critical years in the Sculpture Garden's history (1967, 1974, 1981, Today, and The Future), will show you just how much has changed in this revered fixture on the National Mall as it faces its biggest renovation in years.

This app is location-based, meaning it requires GPS and only works if you are physically at the Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC. It is debuting as part of SoundScene 21 in cooperation with DC Listening Lounge and the Hirshhorn.
