About this app

SecSight transfers files directly between two Android devices, with no cloud, no server and no account. You select your files, tap "Send", and your device spins up its own temporary Wi-Fi network just for that one transfer, with no router and no internet required. Your device then generates a QR code, the recipient scans it with their camera, the transfer runs directly device to device, and once it's done the connection closes automatically and the network disappears again.

The QR code is more than a shortcut for connecting, it carries the X25519 key used to establish the connection, the same approach used in modern messaging apps. Only someone who can physically see the code can connect, so eavesdropping from a distance is technically ruled out. The actual data is encrypted with ChaCha20-Poly1305, and new keys are generated for every transfer and discarded immediately afterward, so there are no permanently valid keys that could be misused later.

This is where SecSight differs from classic sharing services, which run permanently in the background and constantly broadcast a signal so other devices can find them, leaving your device reachable at all times even when you don't want to share anything. SecSight does the opposite, at rest, no service runs, no signal is sent, and nothing listens for incoming connections. Only an active QR scan opens a connection in the first place, and what isn't running can't be attacked.

You also stay in full control of your data. You decide where received files are saved, via the standard Android folder picker rather than a fixed download folder, and temporary files are only created where technically unavoidable, then reliably deleted even if a transfer is interrupted. Optionally, you can save received files straight into a password protected ZIP archive with real AES256 encryption, instead of the classic ZIP password protection that's been considered broken for years. And since SecSight doesn't rely on a shared third party Wi-Fi network but brings its own along, it works just as well in a café, a hotel, or on the go, with neither Google nor Apple involved in the transfer, and no account, sign up, ads, trackers, or sharing of usage data with third parties.

Whether it's large videos, entire folders, or single documents, SecSight is built for anything that needs to get where it's going quickly and directly, without anyone but the sender and receiver knowing about it. Honestly, our encryption isn't better than anyone else's, the difference lies in how little attack surface exists in the first place, and how much control stays with you. We fully disclose which methods we use right inside the app. Android only.
