About this game

Race for the Galaxy is a strategy boardgame where players advance their empire by playing cards to build technological developments or to settle planets. Its core mechanic is a phase choosing game. Players secretly and simultaneously determine which one of seven phases they will lock in, all reveal at once, then execute the phases in order. Will you build an engine to ramp up VP generation on cheapo production planets? Will you invest in exploration and settle rare and valuable VP rich planets? Or will you rush a military conquest to cut off your opponents before they have a chance to develop their strategy.

Ratings and reviews

I think this might be the best app implementation of a tabletop board/card game I have ever encountered. After installation of all the optional expansions, I noticed occasional slowdowns for AI decision making, but otherwise this is a remarkable package. I appreciate the clear interface, and this is a great way to learn the real world game. It's possible to complete a game against the AI in 10-15 minutes that would have taken 1-2 hours against typical human opponents.

This is a perfect implementation of Race for the Galaxy. If you like the table-top game, you will like the app. Everything is intuitive and attractive and works flawlessly. Kudos to the developers, this is really fantastic work. Literally, the ONLY comment I have regarding improvement is that, unless I'm missing something, when I change devices, I lose my profile and game data? BUY THIS APP!

So far it is a solid implementation, but it lacks some of the functionality of the desktop (Steam) version. Specifically, It does not highlight cards that require action from the player. For example, in the desktop version, when certain cards are eligible for being played, discarded, or various other actions, the desktop version will surround them with a glowing highlight. Without this, it is not always obvious which cards need action. This is confusing, especially for new players.
